Post any issues you come across here, including anything regarding submitting a PTC claim.
I currently have my PPC trapped on a ledger with no easy way to move them at the moment. Which also means I can’t sign with that address either.
Is there any other way to make a claim for patchcoin?
Hello and thanks for your question.
You’ll need access to your PPC addresses to sign a claim for Patchcoin.
Barring that, you’ll need to work out a trade, either on our Trading board or Discord, until we have an exchange listing.
I’m not familiar with Ledger internals, but I recall it being able to be used as a hardware wallet for electrum. If that’s the case and electrum is able to read / use the private keys on the device, it should be possible to also sign any messages with it from electrum, making it compatible with patchcoin claims.
Alternatively you could try importing the seed used on your ledger into the official peercoin flutter wallet. Looks like they are compatible.
A Peercoin developer was able to update code to allow for my PPC to be moved from the ledger however it doesn’t allow to sign an arbitrary message like the PTC address that claiming PTC requires.
He suggested the following…
“but you can claim patchcoin by crafting transaction from your peercoin address to your patchcoin address with 0 fees so it’s invalid on peercoin. By signing such transaction with ledger you can take signed transaction and use it instead of the signature in claim screen”
Sounds like this should prove my ownership. Would that be acceptable?
